Umi, after a few severe tests on his current abilities, and Phantasmagoria space, ended up getting caught in his own ritual, forcing himself deep with his psyche. Unable to free himself, he sent a last minute message to Yoko to gather a team to rescue him from his own mind.

"Get Al, Will and maybe Aria and whoever else you can bring!!!...."

Yoko assembled his team from around the magical world, or, at least those he was in contact with. He sent a message to Will, Mortimer and Aria, but was not sure of they would aid him, so he sent some to a few other mages he knew, as well as the Triple Demon Sisters he and Umi fought a few months back.

".......Lets hope someone arrives...."

Overhearing the call, Nhieling suddently recall something very interresting...

I'll join, let's just say that i have interest into the psyche world, a very deep one right now...

Daisuke also had the same interest with Nhieling ,probally to gather some data he could use "I'll assist" He just said in a short sentence since he doesn't have much connection with them just yet .

(Will, Al and whoever can come later...)

Yoko was shocked to find a few new people, he never met them before, but he was glad; because they were new, they would not be immediately affected by Umi's illusions. Yoko packed his things and began to explain what the strategy was when the Triple Demons got there.

"The situation will be as follows...."

Not used to speaking to multiple people, or even speaking in public, Yoko took a few moments before he started again.

"Umi is locked in a Phantasmagoria ritual, because of his skill with the spell, he can control space and time inside, meaning that if his mind rejects us, we could easily suffer enormous amounts of damage, and maybe even die. Were essentially flying in blind, so every stay close and follow me"

Jess came when she received the message, She really hadn't had much to do and had wanted something to keep her busy. As soon as she had received word she rushed over. "Sorry I'm... Late..." She panted, out of breath from running so fast and so long.

William slothfully arrived to check out the situation after hearing his desperate call. “I’m here,” He mutters looking at the other faces, none of them really new to him. He followed behind Yoko as instructed, he didn’t really have a motive or known idea for helping Umi, but the best reason is for him to release the curse on Rose and to tell him not to do anything to his other friends. He could just as easily curse them, too.

William remained calm as Yoko would lead the situation.

"Nice to see you Will, Umi was working on multi-scale illusion worlds so that he can maintain a constant training, capture and interrogation system, all in one moment. So we will have to go through a few levels to get their through little portals, fun right?"

Yoko took them to wear Umi, or his body at least, was left, surrounded by dozens of magical circles, holding the illusion ritual together as Yoko stepped towards Umi he was sucked in by the ritual circles, leaving his body one the floor as he was transported into the Phantasmagoria.

Yoko to his surprise, was transported into Kyoto, where the two of them grew up, it appeared to be and exact replica of their hometown, down to the people living there. As foreign presences they had to hide before they were capture by the illusion bodies.

"I read through Umi's notes, this is the capture level, the figments here we told to apprehend any foreign presence they see, so stay hidden"

Larita scurried along, hoping to help her previous ally Umi. Even though he destroyed the school, they were still friends. She had to do something to help them. "I-I'm here as well, I'll do my best." She blushes frantically in a slightly cute manner. She followed Yoko into the portal, showing a lovely display of Kyoto. It looked so real, just like an identical twin to Kyoto.

"Amazing..." She breathes, talking about Umi's illusionary abilities. She had studied about things like this, but never heard about 'Phantasmagoria' being real. She may have some notes on it though.

Jumping over to Yoko, she nodded as he commanded everyone to stay hidden. Something that Larita wasn't very good at.

Mortimer sat on top of one of Umi's sky scrapers. Umi had warned him of something like this happening and so had placed him on standby in case anything went wrong.

Mortimer was the first to arrive and had been searching fervently through Umi''s mind in an attempt to find the entrance to the next level. Unfortunately things hadn't gone as plan as Umi had failed to mention the gun and samurai sword wielding projections, some of whom had, for inexplicable reasons defibrilators.

Regardless he had been chased high and low through Kyoto and still wasn't any closer to finding the next checkpoint.

And that was when he saw them. They were unmistakable and he had prior experience with each of them.

The martial artist and Pyrokinetic William

The musically inclined spellcaster Aria who he had the misfortune of betraying

His apprentice Daisuke the dopellganger (he really needed to inform the boy of his limitation, but in here it shouldn't be too bad)

The giantess and earth magic wielding Jess (she would stick out like a sore thumb here)

And the demonic puppeteer he had only met once before but who had been instrumental in escaping from the horrors

They were a capable team no doubt but Umi should have just let Mortimer handle it. Mortimer could tell this world was dangerous, not because of any possibility of dying but because the pain a person experienced here was all too real. And it was not just your pain, it was the memory of everyone who entered the phantasmagoria. This was a place designed for capture and torture and so any damage taken would feel almost three times worse. Mortimer knew that without Umis prior training about how to move in this place, he easily might have gotten stuck in one of the numerous torture chambers and been driven insane by the pain. He shuddered to think what would happen if Umis projections got stronger and began inflicting emotional pain as well. Still, the group was don there and he needed to pick them up.

Thankfully Umi had taught him how to move in this place. Turning around he entered the roof exit, walking down only three steps before coming to a door which led to the street level. A taxi cab was waiting their, reaching into hiscoat Mortimer retrieved the keys and entered the car. Mortimer drove up to the small group rolled down the window and said "get in".

He only hoped that he could get the group out of here in time, because it looked like a very heavy rainstorm was coming.

(Lets not get too cliche...)

"Oh..."

Listening to the orders, Yoko went next the car and let Al drive them away, despite the fact that all of them would not fit in a car together. Thanks to his Ki abilities, he began to strengthen the car, allowing Jess to sit on the trunk without breaking it. Sensing the projections coming towards them, he began to prepare enchantments and barrier charms in order to protect the group as they left.

With everyone in the car, Yoko sat on the top and guarded the front as Jess guarded the rear of the car, while the mages on the inside were holding up the barrier around the car.

"Mages, barriers up!"

[You guys always post so fast while I was away and asleep ]

Even if the car was too small to fit everyone ,Daisuke could just sit on someone's lap as they set up the barrier .Unfortunately Daisuke doesn't know very well how to cast a basic barrier .Even if he did ,it'd be weak since he rarely uses it "I'm surprised Mortimer knows how to drive though . . . " He said wondering since when did he even get his license in Kyoto since he's only 16 but that didn't matter .Since Daisuke was free from casting the barrier he summons 8 metal-type Sagitta Magica in a form of sheild to surround the car from all 8 directions but not to block the driver's view ,he sets the metal sheilds further to sense any incoming attacks as he concentrates .By doing so, it would block the attacks from afar or lower it power before it strikes .

“Why can’t I be the driver?!” William pouts trying to sound moody or grumpy, though his expression showed otherwise. Looking up around the situation, nothing seemed suspicious, so he wondered why they even had to set up a silly barrier. William was never good at barriers either; it would seem Ashraeh was the most efficient with them out of his partners. “Orbis Flamma,” William uses his only defensive spell, summoning a small ball of a hardened substance that was engulfed with flames. The orb was very loyal and followed William wherever he’d go.

The ball was also very fast and hard, defending William from any attack until it breaks and crumbles. The ball of fire followed the car quite quickly, using its intuition and senses to tell whether there’s an incoming attack or not.

Three of the shields sensed incoming attacks and blocked it but there was more though this gives Daisuke the information "Attacks incoming from three directions North ,North-East ,West ,get ready" He informed the others .

Nhieling already knew how to move into immaterial world. He materialized his puppet, and project his spirtis substance in.

As Nhieling image had disapear, the doll got alive, floating in mid air and sat on mortimer shoulder, weightlessly.

Do you have any clue about Umi location? We're into what i call the "index" of his mind, like the center, if whe search aimlessly we won't get anywhere.

Jess decided she would go for some low-porfile defensive instead of her Earth Armor. and so she chanted quietly enough that most of the others could only make out a word or two. Her hands assumed the hardness and appearance of stone, turning slate grey. Really this supplemental ability enhanced both offense and defence... If anyone needed it she would do the earth armor later. But really it was quite frustrating for her being in this cramped car, especially with Daisuke on her lap. Matter of fact he'd probably caught every word of that previous incantation.

Mortimer rolled his eyes, blinking and the car he now drove was a limo. As soon as the others blinked they would discover the change and be granted freedom of movement within the now-fancy car.

"As far as I can tell Umi attempted to create an artificial world inside of his own head. A place where he could train and interrogate prisoners for as long as he needed. The problem is, that when he entered his own head, all aspects of his psyche were manifested. And I mean ALL of them, including the insane and destructive parts he let in to get that new body of his.

The point is there are as of now three levels of Umis' mind which we have to traverse through. Right now we are on the first level. This area was designed to act as a holding cell and interrogation zone. That means that any pain you experience here is exponentially multiplied. So whatever you do DON'T GET HIT! You won't be able to shake it off like you would in the real world.

I've been searching for hours but so far I haven't found the entry point to the next level. This place isn't formatted like a normal mind so we need to find the one specific person or place which acts as the doorway to the next level.

And last thing you all should know is that almost all the people we meet on this level were designed with the intent to capture and torture any external intruders. So we need to draw as little attention to ourselves as possible, otherwise Umis' projections will find and torture us. The good news is that if we die here we should be able to "wake up" and leave this place. Any questions?"

Mortimer rounded another corner, the rain was pouring by this time. Wherever the portal to the next level was, it had to have some kind of meaning to Umi. "Does anyone here know any parts of Kyoto which were significant to Umi?"

Jess soon blinked, and was quite relieved at that... She listened to what Mortimer said, sighing. Draw as little attention as possible, huh? She knew that was gonna be hard for her and William especially. And the don't get hit part of it, well... That could also be troublesome. And now Mortimer was asking what parts of Kyoto would be emotionally significant to Umi. "I certainly have a clue..." Jess stated sarcastically. To be honest she knew only what she'd been told so far.

[Ignore the incoming attacks ,wrong idea ]

Now that there was space ,Daisuke could happily run around with his small size "So . . . in this world ,it's basically like a computer games with levels and our lifes are not on the risk ,this sounds fun " He sounded quite excited for some reason but it did not matter .From hearing their discussion about Umi ,Daisuke couldn't understand quite well though so he just stayed quiet after that and continues to scan around but this time ,the sheilds get closer and up into the sky .Daisuke thought that this world are all parts of data and maybe he could alter it with his abillity .

He suddenly got curious and just had to asked "So what are we going to do when we meet this person ,Umi?" He asked to reconfirm hopefully having a way to cure this person .But he still had alot of questions up to say like "If this is like a game with levels ,it's possible for him to be at the top level but the higher the level we reach ,the higher the risk we have to approach something far dangerous which is kind of expected before we even reach to this person"

He redesigned his own mind to become un torture room?

Said the doll, with a tone of surprise

I never heard of something like this before, I don't know this Umi yet but i think i'll like him... He bear his own share of madness.

“Eh... You guys are crazy...” William mutters briefly, looking oddly at the puppet-controlling mad man. He wondered why he’s met so many outrageous and crazy people since he started going to Everlast. I guess he’d consider it ‘good times’. He wondered when anything would happen, Umi’s mind actually didn’t seem like a serious threat to Will.

“Anyway, let’s push forward.” He says confidently, being sure that the defence created by the mages wouldn’t break easily. Looking around, he guessed Umi hadn’t really met any of these people, as they’re mostly friends or accomplices with Mortimer. That kind of shocked him, as it’s a sign that Mortimer may very well be as strong, or even stronger than Umi himself. Then again, William was slightly jealous that they’ve gotten so strong while he and his ministras hadn’t really improved their strength.

Jess didn't know what it was but she could sense William's slight jealousy as she scooted over a bit closer to him. "Let's not get too hasty. We also need to consider this person's past, analyze it as best we can... I can't believe I'm saying this but... I've made that mistake too many times not to warn someone."

"B-but... if we take too slowly, wouldn't Umi get hurt?" Larita inquires, swinging her arms as she begins chanting a special spell that Umi had taught her himself. "La la la la... Elementa aerialia, venti spirantes, cito adeuntes ab inimicis meis me defendant! Limes Aeriales!" She finishes chanting as she sends wind currents flowing around the limo, just in case there's an attack that bypasses barriers. This spell will cause any ranged attacks to slow down or redirect and miss the limo.

The doll was kinda creepy, as the pupetter body had been sucked in.

She said :

We don't really have to hurry this much, in someone mind, spending what it seem like 2years can be only 1 day in reality.
Moreover, with the basic understanding I have of this kind of world, even if we probably would die from getting killed here, we might never wake up.

Have you ever heard of stigmatisation? It's when people will take gamage just from imaginating it.

To give you some exemple, if you blind someone with a fold and then press a cut on his wrist, you'll just have to make some water run over his hand to cause him to die from the shock.

If we get killed here, we might get cerebraly damaged, of even die.
