"瞬動術

Quick move; literally, ‘instant movement.’ By focusing qi or mana into the feet, the practitioner can cross a limited distance – 3 to 7 metres for a beginner – in a burst of extreme speed (enough to appear almost instantaneous). However, unlike true teleportation, the movement itself can be intercepted, and the exit point calculated; once began, the technique cannot be stopped. It must also be performed on some sort of foothold or surface.

Note that Shundo is just a generic term for the many variations of similar techniques in many different martial art styles."


Shundojustu, the art of crossing extended distances through the use of Mana or Ki, has deep roots in Chinese Kenpo, and through the extended family of martial art.

The History of Shukuchihou


The history of Shundo can be tied to the Shukuchihou of the immortals, the ability to literally contract the ground between to points, allowing for what can be called "teleportation", but the key to Shukuchihou lies in much more than that, as it requires much more than speed and Ki to perform, but rather complex control of the Ki to allow for faster, more conspicuous movement between extremely large distances, something that Shundojutsu lacks.

Shundo is the derivative of the Shukuchihou used by the immortals, a general skills that came from close study to the immortals, by copying their styles and techniques, those techniques became the ancestors to the Chinese martial arts still used today, and Shundo is no exception. Shundo is Shukuchihou at its basic, simple movement over distances and speeds not normally possible for humans, but a skill even novice Ki or Magic users can perform.

The Tactics of Shundo

Shundo, in particular, is useful for all forms of combat, from any distance, and from any terrain. However it is best used by those who specialize in Martial Arts, allowing you to gain the advantage quickly in combat with a sudden move. This tactic in particular is a cornerstone of many martial arts, as it allows you to combat ranged attackers by bring the battle up close in an instant, while they cannot do the same.

However, the biggest weakness to Shundo is it's predictability, both the entry and the pull out, the essential components of Shundo can be calculated and "predicted" allowing them to counter your attack, because once in motion, you are unable to stop, you are powerless against interceptions. Another weakness of Shundo is its succession speed, sure having a instant movement is a good ability, but in high level battles, you'll need much more than one shundo to get you around the battlefield, difficult in close combat exchanges, because after you Shundo, you must change your position to fully start another one, once again left open to a counter because your opponent can track your movements.

To effictively use Shundo, its requires subtle control over the distances you move from, always switch up the position you enter and leave from, while keeping the distances short to always maintain a "in-fight" with your opponent, rather than a hit-and-run attack.

Countering Shundo

The key way to counter shundo is, of course, a little predicting, where will they attack you from? at what distance do you think they can hit you from? Will they immediately attack you? or will they maintain a fixed distance to strike at just the right time? this however, is not always a sure strategy, as if they are a skilled user, they can just as quickly cut short the distance and use multiple shundo.

The only sure way to combat shundo, is another person who uses shundo. As the skill with shundo cant be compared directly, two shundo users can fight against each other and appear almost equal. If you pull the two shundo users away from the main confrontation, you can fulfill your job while keeping the shundo user distracted, allowing for you to regroup and attack them all together.

This is the basic knowledge of Shundojutsu, with this, i hope you can make better use of your skills, with or without shundo

Good job, hope you create more soon. Especially on Omnyoudo, Eri hasn't made her character because she's confused...
