Spell and Technique System Empty
PostSubject: Spell and Technique System   Spell and Technique System EmptyMon Nov 01, 2010 11:09 am

Spells work quite differently, as you know about the five stats: strength, speed, endurance, accuracy and intelligence. You may have noticed that spells and techniques are put into ranks.

  • Rank 1 - These spells or techniques are simple and only offer the strength of normal techniques that normal humans would be able to do and/or offer the same amount of damage as a normal human. They're nothing special.

  • Rank 2 - Beginner magic spells or beginner techniques that can be done with simple control over your magic or ki.

  • Rank 3 - Spells or techniques involving ki that have been better grasped by characters. They're only at average strength or a bit over the normal human capabilities.

  • Rank 4 - These spells or techniques may begin to inflict a personal status on the enemy or result in things like sealing another weaker magic. Spells ranked at this are usually considered pretty useful.

  • Rank 5 - Techniques begin to create a difference between you and others. Your techniques will be more effective on certain types of enemies or monsters. Spells get more useful and may have many different effects like dispersing other magic, etc... Be creative.

  • Rank 6 - These spells become stronger and more abnormal than even what normal humans can create. They're more unique and are much stronger than any other 'newbie' spell. These are usually fully incarnated to deliver a strong and powerful offense.

  • Rank 7 – These tough spell begins to show dominance when compared to others. They may induce cancelling of other spells, strong illusions or leaving enemies in a difficult state.

  • Rank 8 – The sheer force of these spells are tough. Barriers are stronger than any beneath its own rank and poisons spread very fast. Healing becomes very quick and attacks become deadly to another’s life. People may not tell the difference between reality and an illusion at this kind of level. These are spells on the level of a trained magician.

  • Rank 9 – Spells are stronger and more fearful than the average mage. They can begin to knock out someone easily and have a much wider and further range than normal spells, though hitting accurately still depends on your accuracy. Stat boosts begin making your character on a much higher tier level.

  • Rank 10 – A high-leveled mage has spells on this level. Barriers are on a high tier blocking even ki. Magic spells have stabilized and are at maximum potential. Your magical power can last for quite awhile and increasing someone with a magical buff puts them on super human level almost instantly. Poisons, paralysis and such last for quite a long time and your power are only rivaled by a few in the human world.

  • Rank 11 – Spells rival that of a dragons attack. Spells are rarely this strong even among that of a magical world resident. Most senior members of the Knight Squad have spells at this level, meaning you’re on par with the strong knights of the magical world.

  • Rank 12 – Mages who have mastered their spells are at this rank. They’ve gained and utilized the effects of the spell to have many, numerous effects. Teaching the spell is an easy task and spells at this level offensively, may destroy many things.

  • Rank 13 – Skills and spells at this level usually involve about 1000-2000 slashes or punches or beams or high power. Barriers become magically charged to high densities that people may break their hands from a punch. Healing mortal wounds becomes an easy task and spreading a status infliction becomes simple with quick and deadly spreading. Buffs put any normal person into the realm of high-leveled fighters and warriors.

  • Rank 14 – Spells at this level are cherished and many often seek out looking to obtain this power for themselves. Magicians with a spell like this have become strong with it to the point that people would pay many for a single use. Restoring limbs, paralyzing someone for their life until the user wishes otherwise and such are simple yet plausible tasks.

  • Rank 15 – Complete mastery and spells on the level of the gods are at this level. Spells like this could destroy a small empire or whole village with ease.

The higher up you go in the ranks for your spells, the stronger the spell becomes as you may see. However, the higher the rank of your spell results in major stamina loss.

Now, to get higher rank spells, you need to have the available technique points (or MP/KP) to upgrade your spells. Not only that, for mages, you need to have higher intelligence to learn spells of higher ranks.

Rank 1 - No intelligence requirement.
Rank 2 - No intelligence requirement.
Rank 3 - No intelligence requirement.
Rank 4 - No intelligence requirement.
Rank 5 - No intelligence requirement.
Rank 6 - At least 10 intelligence.
Rank 7 - At least 20 intelligence.
Rank 8 - At least 30 intelligence.
Rank 9 - At least 50 intelligence.
Rank 10 - At least 70 intelligence.
Rank 11 - At least 80 intelligence.
Rank 12 - At least 90 intelligence.
Rank 13 - At least 100 intelligence.
Rank 14 - At least 120 intelligence.
Rank 15 - At least 150 intelligence.

This only occurs for mages. Ki-users follow the same system, except as they physically exert their body, their intelligence isn't nearly important when comapred to their other stats. When you make a skill, character moderators will decide if your stats are high enough.

WARNING, even if you want high ranked spells, you must take into account that spamming points into intelligence to get higher rank spells may not be a good idea. Abusing a stat over the others could result in your character becoming awfully weak, frail, sluggish and pretty useless in combat. Not to mention, if you only spend points in intelligence, after one use of a rank 10-15 spell, you'll be almost drained of your energy. So remember, spend your points wisely!!

Should Ki ranks be use Strength instead of intelligence, because Ki works differently then magic, yet its still essentially magic... Strength=Ki yah?

No, Ki works as in you'd need a certain requirement for a certain statistic, mattering what it is. Like speed and intelligence for Godel's 1000 slash attack.
