"... All right." After listening to the whole of that Marie decided she did need to enjoy this more. She ate another cookie before going over to the piano curiously... She'd seen people play the piano before on occasion, and thanks to her good memory was able to recall a few simple tunes.... She tried to play them but couldn't get them right... "... Huh. Not the right pitch, but which way..." She felt some slight frustration, deciding to play with the keys a bit before finding the right octave and being able to play that simple tune rather well actually.

It was a simple tune but he didn't mind, even if it was crudely played. It was still not that bad. He even considered getting a piano teacher for Marie... but that could come later. First he needed to build up a relationship with her. Get her to trust him. He joped that giving her this brief glimpse into the upper echelons of society would be a good starting point.

Because right now Mortimer needed allies, especially considering the storm that would soon arrive.

Pushing the thought aside he decided to live in the moment, enjoying marshmellow cookies and amateur music.
