Okay, I finally understand Kyle. He asked if he has to spend 10 SP on his NPC, no. You don't spend it on it, it's just a requirement to make one...

Since yours is a summon-type NPC, you need to have a spell to summon it, yes. It will only stay out for like 1-2 posts at rank 1 though.

Plus, Yoko has no personality. I mean, if I had a boyfriend who was chatting it up with some other guy, and that other guy flirts with MY boyfriend in front of me, I'd be furious!!!
