Rie was running, her assailants not far behind. Only Rie's many years of training and her high stamina had prevented her from getting caught so far... Who were these people? Why were they after her? And more importantly: Where the hell were she supposed to go!? As she kept running she suddenly found herself at the top of a cliff, overlooking the sea... Behind her, the sounds from her assailants grew louder...

She had a choice now, to jump and maybe survive, or to stand and fight and maybe die.
Rie's choice was taken away from her as one of the men chasing her broke through the bushes. The man started to chant in what she guessed was latin as soon as he saw her... Suddenly, while the man was still chanting, Rie lost her footing and fell backwards down the cliff, towards the seawater. As she fell, flashes of memories; her past life, her family, her training, sped through her mind even as her eyes started shedding tears... The ground came towards her faster... Soon it would all be over...
Rie never noticed when the rift opened, neither did she notice when she hit the ground hard before blacking out...
